The Advanced Course is designed to learn how to perform alterations both simple and includes a project where we will upcycle a garment, by deconstructing and altering the entire look. This course is for people who already have a basic knowledge of the construction of garments, the basics of sewing, understand their machine and have competence with different stitches.
The classes are available both face to face in Gorey, Co Wexford and online using Zoom. Both class types are easy to manage and are adaptable for the students accessibility.
In this class you will learn
- how to perform simple alterations such as shortening trousers, arms on shirts/blouses, dresses etc.
- how to replace a broken zip in jeans, trousers, skirts, dresses, jackets etc.
- a more complicated alteration where we will deconstruct a garment you bring, to upcycle it and change it into a bespoke garment created by you.
- This course is designed to enhance your skills and give you more confidence in your sewing.
The course consists of 6 hours of one to one classes, and can be done in 1 or 2 hour blocks over 6 or 3 weeks. The cost of the course is discounted when paying to book, it costs €180 or booking per class costs €35 per hour
Please Note:
Sometimes this course will need additional classes to the 6 within the course, depending on how complicated the upcycle is. If this is the case any additional classes will be offered with the same discount you have already received, or at €30 per class.
